ATM Solutions celebrates a decade in Namibia
1 August 2016 – Windhoek – ATM Solutions, the bank-independent deployer of ATM machines in Namibia, today marks 10 years of doing business in this country.
ATM Solutions Namibia, a subsidiary of Paycorp, the leading provider of payment solutions in developing economies, installed its first ATM for Bank Windhoek on 1 August 2006. Since then, it has installed more than 2 ATMs a month, every month into hospitality and retail locations across the country, making access to cash much easier for consumers. ATM Solutions currently operates 311 ATMs in Namibia and over 5 000 across South Africa and Zambia
The geographic reach of ATM Solutions means it is able to expand the footprint of its banking partners – Bank Windhoek and Standard Bank – into areas not always easy to service by the banks themselves.
“ATM Solutions have been our implementation partners since inception a decade ago,” says Marlize Horn, Executive Officer: Group Marketing and Corporate Communication Services at Bank Windhoek. “Over that time they have deployed over 259 machines and ensure that the network remains fully operational at all times. The ongoing management and maintenance of these machines by ATM Solutions allows us to focus on other areas of our business, with the knowledge that our customers are well looked after when it comes to accessing their cash.”
The company, started in South Africa in 1999 by entrepreneurs Steven Kark and Rowan Swartz, prides itself on pioneering the concept of merchant-cashed ATMs in Africa. Its service to customers includes site selection and recommendation of the appropriate machine for floor space and customer type. It then installs, brands, and manages the machine, including technical support.
Long-standing customer Jesko Woermann, Managing Director of Woermann Brock, has congratulated the company on its milestone achievement. “Congratulations to ATM Solutions on reaching this landmark. We’ve worked with the company for many years and find that in addition to the professional manner in which they manage our account, the network of ATMs that have been rolled out at our stores have brought additional convenience to our customers, and allowed us to increase both foot-traffic and money spent in-store.”
